The Benefits of Chewing for Pets

There are few things that satisfy a dog more than having a good old gnaw on something chewy and tasty – take a look at Digger here doing just that! It is believed that the act of chewing can release endorphins, which create a relaxed and happy feeling for the dog.

Chewing can also assist with maintaining dental health, since the mechanical act of chewing can help keep the tooth surfaces clean. It is important however to only provide safe things to chew on to avoid broken teeth or swallowing of indigestible objects. We recommend roo tendons, Kong toys, Greenies and Hill’s T/D prescription diet as appropriate and very enjoyable chewy options!
