Looking after your pet after surgery.

  • Today your pet has had a general anaesthetic. Tonight you should keep him/her in a quiet, warm and confined area. They should gradually regain their usual 'bounce' over the next 2448 hours.
  • Your pet will be able to have food and water tonight, but it is best to only offer a small meal about half normal. Remember to give your pet close access to water
  • You will need to watch the wound over the next week or so. If there is any swelling or discharge you should let us know. The stitches will need to be removed in about 10 days time this service is free but please make an appointment time.
  • The wound needs to be kept clean and dry so no baths or swimming until we have taken the stitches out.

Remember if you have any problems at all just call us, we are here to help inform you and keep your pet healthy and happy.
