Consultations By Appointment
Consultations with our veterinarians are available all day, when you call to book your appointment, please give us as much detail as possible about what your pet is coming in for so we can make an appropriate time, some problems need a longer consultation.

Vaccinations
We offer vaccines for dogs cats and rabbits. All animals are given a thorough health check before the vaccine. This also allows you to discuss any concerns you may have . Regular vaccinations and health checks are important for your pets wellbeing and to ensure they live a long and healthy life.
we will also send you reminders by email or post when your pet’s vaccinations and wellness check are due.

Surgical Facilities
we have an excellent surgical facility and experienced vets and nurses. We regularly perform sterile surgeries, including desexing, dental, orthopaedic, soft tissue surgery, cancer and emergency surgery.
Every pet who undergoes surgery has a full examination and blood test first, receives intravenous fluids to maintain their blood pressure, help their body metabolise the anaesthetic and for medication. ALL patients have a dedicated anaesthetist and top of the range anaesthetic monitoring equipment. There is also a post operative medicine nurse to ensure your pet is comfortable for the rest of the day

Pathology and Diagnostic Services
We have an in-house blood testing machine to be able to run a blood test on your pet and usually have the results within 15 minutes! We can also run cytology and urinalysis in house for fast results, and if any samples require further specialist examination, they are picked up by courier and tested in a lab specifically for animals.

Free Dental Checks
Just like us, our pets need regular dental checks. Unhealthy teeth mean more than just smelly breath, dental disease and gingivitis can lead to more serious conditions and a lot of pain, and they are not able to tell you! We offer free dental checks with out experienced nurses to look at the condition of your pets teeth and determine the appropriate treatment. This usually involves preventative dental care, but it also allows us to see if your pet needs to come in for the day to have their teeth cleaned.

X-Ray, Ultrasound and Endoscopy
We have the facilities in-house to take and examine radiographs, ultrasounds and perform endoscopy. These are wonderful tools to examine an animal and help to determine a diagnosis.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture can assist with many ailments such as soreness, stiffness and help with your pets mobility. Your pet would need to be assessed first to make sure that acupuncture will be of benefit. There are usually weekly sessions for at least 4 weeks.

House Calls
We offer house calls for clients who are unable to transport their pet to the clinic, if you would like a house call please phone the clinic in advance so we can organise a time that will be suitable for you and our vets.

Puppy Pre School
Puppy Pre School at Burke Road Vet Clinic is run by Catherine Webb of Southern Cross Dog Training. Catherine has been training dogs for over seven years and is very experienced in all facets of dog behaviour and training. Our three week program includes basic obedience training, socialisation, puppy problem solving and plenty of time for questions and answers.

Cat Boarding
If you a going away for a short time or a long time, you can rest easy knowing your cat is in good hands. We have a boarding facility, away from the hospital area, for cats of all ages at anytime of the year. The cosy boarding room has air conditioning and heating, relaxing music and plenty of space for cats to roam. Holiday periods book up fast, and spaces are strictly limited, so make sure you get in early to secure a spot! Up-to-date vaccinations are required at all times.

Hydro-Bath
DIY Hydrobath and dryer is available seven days a week during opening hours, call to book in ahead of time.

Parasite Prevention
We have a wide range of parasite prevention to cover worming, flea control and more. Our experienced nurses are always happy to discuss which is the best parasite treatment to suit you and your pet’s needs.
